On November 13, 2024, the Şırnak University BAP Coordination Unit organized the "Effective Project Preparation and Management Training for BAP Projects" at the İsmail Ebul El Cezeri Conference Hall of the 15 July Congress Center. The event aimed to enhance the university's scientific research capacity and provide guidance to academics on project development processes. The training program attracted significant interest from academics across various faculties of the university.

In his opening speech, Şırnak University Rector Prof. Dr. Abdurrahim Alkış emphasized that advancing scientific research and project development is a key priority aligned with the university's vision. Prof. Dr. Alkış stated:

"We have gathered to take an important step toward further advancing our academic achievements and research capacity. As you know, academic staff at the university not only engage in teaching and educational activities but also conduct R&D, projects, and experiments to produce new knowledge and guide societal progress. In a study conducted a month ago, our university surpassed nearly 30 other universities, marking a trend of improvement. What caught my attention was that our TÜBİTAK and similar project initiatives played a key role in this success. Projects play a critical role not only in the academic world but also in creating innovations and solutions that benefit society. Therefore, enhancing our competencies in preparing and managing scientific projects will contribute to both our individual and institutional development.

Today’s training program aims to help our esteemed researchers overcome challenges in project development processes and transform innovative ideas into tangible success stories. Specifically, within the framework of this training, we will address many important topics, including the fundamental principles of project management, budget planning, resource management, and effective project tracking. Let us not forget that detailed preparation and strong teamwork are the cornerstones of a successful project.

In recent years, as a university, we have achieved many successful projects with the support of BAP (Scientific Research Projects), TÜBİTAK, and international funds. However, to elevate our goals even higher and make our name known nationally and internationally, we all need to work harder and enhance our efficiency in projects. I believe today’s training will provide you, our esteemed academics, with new perspectives and equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage your projects more effectively. On this occasion, I extend my gratitude to all trainers who contributed to the training program and my thanks to all of you for your participation.”

The training program comprehensively covered the preparation, budgeting, resource research, and reporting processes of scientific research projects. Topics such as project writing techniques, ethical principles, and application methods aligned with international standards were presented to the participants.

The event featured presentations by Dr. Esengül Erdem, Dr. Sıddıka Akdeniz, and BAP Coordinator Dr. Dilan Alp, enriching the program and answering questions from academics.

At the conclusion of the event, participants were provided with valuable tips and resources to improve their effectiveness in scientific projects.
