2026 Second Period Scientific Research Project Call Calendar and Implementation Principle

Dear Researchers,

The Call Schedule and Implementation Guidelines for the Second Term of 2026 Scientific Research Projects (BAP), administered by the Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit of Şırnak University, have been approved by the BAP Commission through its decision dated October 8, 2026, numbered 26/06-01.

In this application period, the increased project funding incentives introduced in the previous term will remain in effect, while the funding allocation for Student-Oriented Projects has been further increased. These measures aim to strengthen scientific research activities, promote high-quality research publications, and encourage greater student participation in research.

The 2026 Second Term Call establishes funding limits for the following project categories: Student-Oriented Projects, Master's and Doctoral Thesis Projects, Rapid Support Projects, Standard Research Projects, Priority Research Area Projects, and Industry-Collaborative Projects.

Furthermore, project investigators who have produced high-quality scientific publications resulting from previously completed BAP projects may apply for additional funding under the Standard Research Projects category.

Additional funding may be requested based on the journal quartile ranking of the publication resulting from a previously completed project, as follows:

SCI-SSCI Q1: 30% additional funding
SCI-SSCI Q2: 20% additional funding
SCI-SSCI Q3-Q4: 10% additional funding

Where multiple scientific publications have resulted from the same completed project, only one publication will be considered when evaluating the request for additional funding.

Researchers are strongly encouraged to carefully review the funding limits for each project category, additional funding opportunities, application requirements, conference participation support limits, peer-review procedures, regulations governing the employment of scholarship holders, procurement and expenditure categories, and the updated implementation guidelines for this application period.
